Joomla 1.6 in it's Fourth Beta Phase

Joomla have released the third beta version of Joomla 1.6 just two weeks since the last release. The Joomla development team have kept their promise so far of wanting to deliver 'time-based beta releases of Joomla 1.6' every 14 days.

The second relase of Joomla 1.6 beta 2 was in May. The new beta release has fixed around 102 issues in the tracker. Much of this progress is directly related to the stepped up efforts of the Joomla! Bug Squad. The team extend their thanks for all the hard work in bringing the project one increment closer to a stable version.

See the Changelog within the download package to learn more about changes in this version. This is the third in a series of continuous betas for Joomla 1.6. Beta 4 was released on June 28, 2010.

Is it worth upgrading from Joomla 1.5 to Joomla 1.6 while in Beta?

If you are currently running Joomla 1.5 we suggest you wait till a more stable version is up and running before upgrading. While the Joomla developement team are always working hard on improvements and create some fantastic work, for those still new to Joomla we feel it's best to master what you know, wait for a more stable version and then upgrade to 1.6 at that stage.
